Boston. 2014. I was back from Europe and sitting across from my mentor/teacher/coach, Irina. We were catching up over coffee for the first time since returning home. I was entering the second year of my Master's program. Lots of deadlines and plans to discuss. But she had a more impactful way of sorting me out: a question.

It changed how I viewed myself as a musician, and my place in society because of it.

My musical training may have started in 1994, but my purpose started that day. Twenty years later I understood that I was more than a musician who practiced endless hours to achieve unrealistic perfection.

I recently discussed my musical journey in an interview, and posted the story in its entirety as part of my Personal Career Statement (also in 'About' tab).
